I originally devised The Institute of Marine Research as a way of regularly writing and drawing comics so that I could improve my understanding of the craft.  I have been really enjoying creating the comic and have a lot of places I would like to take the story. At the moment I don’t make any money from this so am also working part-time and on other endeavours too.  As such the update schedule will be quite a slow but steady pace at first; I expect to be able to update one five-page episode every couple of weeks.  Hopefully as time goes on, my understanding of the medium and my art skills will improve and this will be reflected in the writing, storytelling and art.

As far as genre goes, I would place The Institute of Marine Research in a horror mould I guess, with influence being drawn from such seminal touchstones as The Wicker Man and HP Lovecraft.
